The Artists Description
This artwork is a graphic collage and part of the Marilyn in Movement set, which is one of three sets in the Vintage Movement Series. Created in November 2022, the set is inspired by retro images of Marilyn Monroe and explores themes of energy, empowerment, and transcendence through movement. Marilyn was a devoted practitioner of yoga, and the artwork portrays her as happy and powerful, transcending life's circumstances and crossing into the spiritual realm.
Sarira Sayad
Nicknamed Szen Sari is an artist and entrepreneur based in Montreal, Canada, known for her multidisciplinary approach to creativity. Her passion for art began in childhood, and she continued developing her skills through self-directed learning and a technical and graphic design degree.
Szen Sari's diverse background has greatly influenced her work, focusing on energy flows, movement, transformation, and transcendence. She draws inspiration from her experiences in dance and music and her unconventional life journey across three continents. Through her art, she seeks to capture the evolving human spirit and explore universal truths and mysteries.
Her artwork depicts the stages of consciousness and the aura of a spiritual journey through the body and beyond. Szen Sari's quest for enlightenment is a central theme in her creative process, reflected in her piece's depth and richness.
